Brockwell Park is a 50.8 hectare park located in Lambeth, south of Brixton, in Herne Hill and Tulse Hill in south London. It is bordered by the roads Brixton Water Lane, Norwood Road, Tulse Hill and Dulwich Road
Brockwell Park has numerous football areas throughout the year but only one grass field that remains playable throughout most of winter! As a preferred partner of Lambeth Parks Management StarFootballers has priority access to the playing field opposite the Parks Depot!
Lambeth Parks Management ensure that all football pitches are well maintained throughout the year. This includes monthly cutting during the summer months and bi-monhtly cutting during winter when possible. Of course during the rainy muddy season Nov to March it isnt always possible to get a tractor style lawn mower on the grass but rest assured the Brockwell Park grounds maintenance team are experts and do their best all year round!
Summer months:
Footwear: Firm Ground football boots are essential and even Astro-Turf boots can be worn during June to August but this is only for a short period of time.
Clothing: Shorts and t-shirts are a must and under-armour style clothing is best left at home as they quickly cause boys and girls to overheat.
Winter Months:
Footwear: Anti-Clog Soft Ground football boots are a must due to the muddy nature of park training.
Clothing: Shorts and t-shirts for as long as possible but of course there comes a time when under-armour style clothing is permissible.
Forbidden: Watches, neck chains, baseball caps, jewellery, hoodies, jackets.
