Parent & Spectator
Code of Conduct

Star Footballers is a private football coaching academy, independently owned and operated by Ciarán Donlon. The academy maintains clear standards of behaviour, respect and conduct to ensure a safe, positive and professional environment for all players, parents and spectators.

All parents and spectators are required to follow this Code of Conduct at every training session and match. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to permanent exclusion from the academy.

1. Support, Don't Coach

Positive support examples: “C’mon you boys”, “Well done”, “Great effort lads”, “Keep going”, “Unlucky” and “Great play”.

Parent coaching examples: “Pass”, “Shoot”, “Press”, “Tackle”, “Stay back”, “Get forward”, “Mark him” and “Scan”.

Parent coaching is not permitted. Parents/spectators must not call individual players by name to give instructions or use gestures to direct players.

Coaching is the responsibility of the Brockwell Stars FC coaching team.

2. Respect the Players

Encourage all players positively. Do not criticise mistakes, compare children, make negative comments or place unnecessary pressure on players.

Children must be given the freedom to learn, make decisions and enjoy their football without interference from the sidelines.

3. Respect Coaches & Referees

Respect the authority and decisions of all coaches, assistant coaches and appointed referees.

Parents and spectators must not challenge, undermine, interfere with or attempt to influence coaches or referees during training sessions or matches.

4. Respect the Opposition & Sidelines

Treat opposition players, coaches, parents and spectators with courtesy and respect.

Remain behind the designated respect barrier and follow all instructions from the coaching team.

Maintain a positive environment and demonstrate good sportsmanship throughout training sessions and matches.
